Just love these
To get an idea of what you are looking at, in terms of process, take a gander
over to 2001 Arrrrt. The work on that page it
is a direct predecessor to the work on this page. I have taken the flowers
and really thrown them to a different existence, to a different position.
What I truly enjoy about this sequence of images is how the flowers really change emotionally. As I have said before, art is a record of my current emotional position. I never thought that flowers would do what they are doing for me. I thought they were almost purely decorative. Now, I believe differently.
Basically, the sets of four are drawn at the same time, then painted in pairs (diptych). That is why, under close scrutiny, it is clear that the painting style is constantly changing in pairs. That, I feel, is the large representation of shifting emotional positions.
Image size is 26" x 20". All of them were done in the months of April and May, 2002.
