Identity

1998 Work

1998 found me to be
incredibly productive.
Not all that I produced
in 1998 hit the mark,
but so many of the
actual pieces propelled
me to another layer of
satisfying pursuit, that
I have a lot of trouble
selecting the most
important. And, if one
is interested in progression,
I think that the work here successfully illustrates the process of subtraction and addition, elimination and choice, and process, process, process. To find out more about each series, please click through the link at the bottom of the image.

Incidentally, the Pieces Series (below, right) is a major cornerstone of advancement for me. Please take a moment to read through the accompanying text to read my feelings about this series at the time of creation. I find this very illuminating.

One thing of note: throughout 1998 I had a mild obsession with carrots. As I mentioned in the short dialogue about 1997, I was working through a lot of self-adjustment/identity issues - as I continue to! One of my major specifics was the identification of *carrots* that we all chase, or that I chase, and putting them in their appropriate place.

One more interesting thing of note: the yellow should, Identity, below. I have found a need,
every-once-in-a-while, to rework the standing female figure. I drew this one about a year from should.shoULD.SHOULD. I find the differences interesting and worth my time as a record of history and emotional position.
